Karl Schlecht on the WEIT in brief:

"For many years, it has been a great inner concern of mine to make the Global Ethic idea conscious of daily cooperation in good companies and to build trust. Since 1998, this has led to the Karl Schlecht Foundation KSG appearing as the most active sponsor in German-language business ethics research. In doing so, it strives for a noticeable qualification of the ethical, value-oriented human biophilic quality of business activities with success-oriented leadership in times of globalization. In this way, we want to make a contribution to peaceful sustainable development serving all stakeholders, in the sense of "seeking and promoting the good par excellence", in the constant striving of each individual to become better and better in the face of tough global competition. (SM 121126:) the intention and presentation of the WE-Institute at the UNI Tübingen shall be shown in the following from the donor's - KSG- point of view.

Annual Reports of the Global Ethic - Institute

The so-called Economic World Ethic Institute at the University of Tübingen (WEIT) was founded in May 2011 on the initiative of Karl Schlecht with the Global Ethic Foundation Tuebingen (SWT), which acts as a legal sponsor, and started operations in the summer semester of 2012. The institute is donated and permanently financed with 1 million EURO annually by the Karl Schlecht Foundation KSG. Because our focus is exclusively on a high work ethic in business and industry, KSG uses the working title Wirtschafts-Weltethos-Institut Tübingen (abbreviation unchanged = WEIT).

According to its statutes, the purpose of the Global Ethic Institute is basic research and teaching for the scientific foundation of the idea of an ethos for the global economy based on the Global Ethic Idea (*). The aim is for people to succeed in the face of tough global competition that serves us all, in keeping with the founder's motto:

To rejoice in serving, improving, creating values for the good of all.

In this sustainable educational investment of KSG for ethics in business as an important part of our global and peaceful coexistence, the focus of the WEIT is to enable managers to help close ethical gaps for good corporate culture (*) among their employees. These gaps in education are becoming more and more regrettable today, because our youth in the nursery, kindergarten and schools no longer get the humanly good equipment for enriching lifestyle, good togetherness, sense of community and character formation. Without such education, value orientation is impossible.

The programme is based on the manifesto "Global Economic Ethos - Consequences for the World Economy" drawn up with experts from business and ethics at SWT. This is based universally as quasi primordial ethics on the 2500 year old GOLDEN RULE of Confucius, common to all religions.

In the WEIT, which was designed as the so-called AN Institute of the UNI Tübingen, a professorship for Ethos in Business (formerly "Professorship for Global Business Ethos") was established, for which the philosopher Prof. Dr. Claus Dierksmeier could be won. As head of the institute, he and his team pursue the goal of explaining and disseminating the idea of ethos, especially in business, and of deriving teaching for future managers at UNI Tübingen from it in a practice-oriented way. The Founder intends to expand this research and teaching offer, which is geared to a high work ethic, at a later date and to connect it synergetically with the institutes of other universities he has established.

WEIT would also like to make innovative contributions to the range of courses offered by the University of Tübingen, developed on the basis of practical experience, with relevant and supportive courses of study, scientific and general continuing education events and general studies.

The Economic World Ethic Institute works internationally: It networks with scientists, institutes, organisations and initiative groups worldwide, in particular with the Economic Ethic Institute Beijing at BEIDA in China, which was founded on 30 October 2012. In addition, international guest researchers research and teach at the Institute.

The GOLDEN RULE of Confucius corresponds to the ethical core of all great religions on which the western and eastern culture is based, thus also beside the teachings of Confucius those of Laotse, Buddha, the prophets and Jesus. In today's "global village" we are interested in the Global Ethic idea of becoming aware of the same human UR concerns as reality behind the religious doctrines and the unfortunately often opposing human attitudes - even within the same religion with omnipresent wars.

To create consciousness here is therefore the human reality which is identical in essence, which was found in the teachings of Confucius, Buddha, Jesajah, Christ, Socrates or Spinoza and was scientifically researched anew by Prof. Hans Küng.

Hence our KSG vision: Global Ethic EINT the thinking of our globally active company members despite their superficially different worldviews and should therefore create trust by striving for truth, honesty, justice and love (in the sense of "The Art of Love" by Erich Fromm).

The objective is qualify human beings to be successful in the global competitive world by following Karl Schlecht`s motto: Enjoy to Serve, Improve and Create values . The foundation of the Economic Ethic Institute Tübingen (WEIT) is based on the 7 ethic guidelines (SM 130130) which are supposed to serve as spiritual fundament for the articles of association and rules and regulations of the institute. These guidelines were issued by the founder in the declaration of foundation (SM 121004 / WD 110204). In his "World Ethos Handbook" Prof. Hans Küng explains how the beginning and orientation of the institute from his point of view, respectively that of the World Ethic Foundation SWT (WD 130101). Against this background and in the sense of further developing the founder`s ideas regarding: "What means the World Ethos Idea for us" (SM 121126)in the following text Karl Schlecht explains his vision for the future of the World Ethos Institute Tübingen (WEIT)
