The Karl Schlecht Foundation (KSG), as an institution of public benefit, was established by Dipl. Ing. Karl Schlecht in October 1998, concurrent with the Family Foundation KSF. It is located in Aichtal near Stuttgart. Through an interposed holding company, the KSG holds 99% of the shares of the mechanical engineering company Putzmeister. The purpose of the foundation is the promotion of science and research, education and training, sponsorship of cultural projects and institutions as well as environmental concerns  through a number of ongoing projects.

The Karl Schlecht Foundation is a member of the Bundesverband Deutscher Stiftungen (Federal Association of German Foundations).
