LETHOS - Institute for Philosophy and Leadership

In the field of leadership the Karl Schlecht Stiftung (KSG) sponsors the Institute for Philosophy and Leadership (IPL) at the University for Philosophy (HfPh) in Munich.

Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Michael Bordt SJ the institute aims at driving university research and teachings towards the development of ethical norms and principles with issues relating to leadership and business ethics (LETHOS).

The institute also provides intensive personal consultations as well as training and advising for trainees and executives in high-level positions.

Students acquire character building competencies for excellent leadership. Hence, the institute is basically convinced that “whoever wishes to lead people successfully needs strength of character and a strong and mature personality” in addition to professional qualifications. The purpose of research at the Institute for Philosophy and Leadership is first and foremost to develop effective educational and continuing training concepts for the professional careers of students and executives

In the light of this and through its activities the Institute for Philosophy and Leadership bridges the gap that previously existed in the institutes program sponsored by the KSG.
