The Karl Schlecht Foundation (KSG), as an institution of public benefit, was established by Dipl. Ing. Karl Schlecht in October 1998, concurrent with the Family Foundation KSF. It is located in Aichtal near Stuttgart. Through an interposed holding company, the KSG held 99% of the shares of the mechanical engineering company Putzmeister until the end of January 2012 when all shares were sold to Sany Heavy Industry Co. Ltd. The proceeds of the transaction completely goes to the Karl Schlecht Foundations.
The purpose of the foundation is more than ever the promotion of science and research for excellence in professional life, education and training, sponsorship of intercultural projects and institutions as well as environmental concerns through a number of ongoing projects.
